Currently, if you are using Joomla 2.5 and you want to reset the page views, you must access the database using phpMyAdmin tool and edit the values in the table. It is a task that requires precision and know-how, so that your customers will not do it alone.
Fortunately, I found a free and simple module for the back-end, which makes it easy to reset the hits of articles (and not only!) With one click without the "burial" in the database.
The extension Simple Reset Hits (www.joomill.nl/en/extensions/resethits) support counter reset:
- Joomla Core: Article Hits, Article Revision, Banner Views, Banner Hits, Weblinks Hits.
- 3rd Party: Virtuemart, Jomsocial, Docman, Iproperty, Fastw3b Real Estate, Fastw3b Gallery, Ignite Gallery, RT RokGallery, YT ZOO and K2.
Note that after installing the module must be published in cpanel position. When you save settings, the module will be displayed in the control panel. Deleting hits is individually for the whole component or thematic section of the component (see figure opposite), this is to protect (you and your client) before deleting anything.
There are two versions of this module one for each version of Joomla 2.5 and 1.5.
You can help to translate this module into your language using https://opentranslators.transifex.net/projects/p/JoomlaSimpleResetHits/r/all-resources/
