The news has been taking shape and gaining solid ground in recent days and yesterday some more evidence were made public to make the presentation of this very expected distinguished service.
There is still no exact date for launching this new service from Google, but the probability to be next week is very high. Some actually point to be on next Tuesday or Wednesday.
The site TheNextWeb obtained access to a preliminary version of the official announcement of this new service from Google and then managed to gain access to the contours of what will this new service.
First and most important issue is the free service availability. Like most Google services, Google Drive will also be free, however there will be also the possibility of obtain additional storage space.

The free storage will be 5GB beeing this also an important factor and differentiator from the competition. All users will have this space available so they can store their files. It is not known any information about pricing for additional space which the slots of space available for purchase.
Having learned from the best of what competition has done, also Google Drive will have software available for all major operating systems. At first will be the only supported OS's Windows and Mac OS, but it is expected in near future versions for Android and iOS. The service will also be available at https://drive.google.com/.
According to available information, Google Drive will synchronize your files to a folder to be available in the workplace, somewhat similar than the image of current services competitors already do.
This news now presented confirms the many occasional leaks that led to this service as being made available very soon. Only last week it was time for a partner of Google, Lucidchart, giving access to a page integrating their services with Google Drive. This was immediately removed, but many have access to it.
Google back to position themselves right in the middle of the service that offers competition and brings its users a more refined and expected better product. The question is how will react companies like Dropbox, Box or even Microsoft itself to the arrival of this heavyweight competitor.
We look forward to the next week, to see if rumours and some evidence are correct and what Google hosting service file is, as so often taken for granted.
